On May 14, 2025, at 6:25, Mahopac Fire Department responded to reported smoke in the building at DUNKIN Donuts at 969 Rt 6 in Mahopac

Also responding were Carmel Police, Mahopac Falls Fire Dept., Carmel Fire Dept., Somers Fire Dept., Croton Falls Fire Dept. Mahopac EMS, Carmel EMS, Putnam Medic 3, Putnam Battalion 16, Putnam County Fire Investigation Team, and Town Of Carmel Building Inspector. Upon his initial arrival and size-up, smoke in the building was confirmed by the Chief of the Department when he called for additional resources to respond.
The cause and origins of the smoke is under investigation. .
