1:49pm. MVFD was dispatched to the area of 418 Route 6 for a reported leaking LP gas tank.

Arriving units found a subject had just filled their 30lb LP gas tank and was traveling with it in their vehicle when it began to leak in the vehicle.
The subject quickly removed the tank from the vehicle and placed it in a local business parking lot and called 911.

Car 18-1-1 commanding the incident contacted Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services and requested the Hazmat Team respond to the location. Upon arrival of Putnam County Hazmat Team it was determined that the tank would need to be flared off to off gas any remaining gas in the tank.

All units remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes until the tank was empty and could be safely removed.
