By Jack Casey
November 8, 2018

Just after noon, Thursday 11/8, units from Mahopac Fire and Carmel Police were dispatched to a possible structure fire on Kennicut Hill Rd., in the area of Olympus Drive. Carmel Police units, Officers Pearson and Macon were the first to arrive and closed the road to traffic, making it easier for responding fire units to have access to the scene. Asst. Chief Andy Roberto assumed the role of Incident Command. After conferring with the home owner, it was found to be an oil burner malfunction. Using the Thermal Imaging Camera to verify that there were no hotspots, crews packed up and headed back to quarters.
