7:42pm. MVFD was dispatched to a residence on Hailey Hill Dr on a reported explosion and possible structure fire. The 1st arriving units determined there to be negative structure fire, but the residence did receive extensive damage due to an oil burner explosion. The force within the structure was so strong it blew the burner through an interior wall and across the basement. The up and outward force of the explosion also caused damage to door openings and drywall on the above 1st & 2nd floors. The homeowners were home at the time of the explosion but reported no injuries. The Carmel Building Inspector deemed the home uninhabitable until all electric and plumbing was checked by licensed professionals.
