Alarm Sounded For Reported Structure Fire

At 19:38 the Mahopac Vol. Fire Dept. was alerted to a reported residence on fire. A quick response was made by the department with department engine 18-2-3 arriving first and just minutes after dispatch. Response also included 18-1-1, 18-1-3, 18-4-1, 18-4-2, 18-5-1, and 18-7-2. While enroute units were updated by the counties 911 center with a report from the home owner that the fire was believed to be in the area of the chiminey. The fire was quickly knocked down by the first arriving units allowing damge to remain at a minimal and averting any further loss of the structure. The department was assisted by the Carmel Police as well as Putnam County Battalion 16 and mutual aid coverage for the district was received by the Mahopac Falls Fire Dept. while the multiple units were operating.
