12:31pm. MVFD was dispatched with Carmel Police Department, NY to multi family residence on See Avenue for a reported structural collapse.

Upon arrival of first units it was determined that the basement cement block wall on the front side of the building had collapsed into the basement. Once the wall collapsed the front entry porch had sagged downward by several inches.

Timber planks had been put in place to bridge the gap from the front doorway to solid ground so the one remaining resident on the second floor could exit safely.

The incident commander car 18-1-1 contacted Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services to requested Putnam County Technical Rescue Team and Westchester County Collapse Team to assist. The Town of Carmel Building Department was on scene and deemed the structure unsafe and condemned the property.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist with shelter for the three families that occupied the three apartments within the structure.

The structure was turned back over to the property owner to work with the Town of Carmel Building Department.
