9-18-25: On Thursday evening, Firefighters and EMS members of the Mahopac VFD met with the Putnam County Hazardous Materials Team

The two-hour drill consisted of orientation presentations and demonstrations of the various operational methods and equipment used by the HazMat Team during emergencies.
Various gas detectors and unknown liquid substance testers were demonstrated as well as donning Personal Protective Suits. were demonstrated. Members participated in the setup and use of an onsite decontamination station. Members of the HazMat Team have years of experience and extensive training in this specialty.
